No set of rules or
guidelines for the American host family can ever be complete. Every student
is unique. However, there are general guidelines, and we trust that they
will be of help to you. Our philosophy is to promote international goodwill
and understanding. It’s our belief that the international homestay
experience will work to improve our understanding of the foreign student's
values and attitudes and expose the student not only to American English
but to American culture through NISE programming and the host family’s
lifestyle. Our goal is to move our young guests beyond the illusions of
television and the Hollywood film industry
to see the authenticity and diversity of everyday American life!
